Hi, I'm Brenden.
I'm a PhD student in the
Bains Lab at the Krembil Brain Institute, where I use in vivo calcium imaging to record neuronal activity from CRH neurons in the paraventricular hypothalamus. I'm studying how stress reshapes neural circuits and behaviour, and I design and build tools that streamline analysis and extend what we can do with the data. Prior to this, I studied epilepsy, psychedelics, and cannabinoids in clinical research, and during my MSc used in vivo electrophysiology in rodents to investigate the circuits behind psychedelic and cannabinoid action.
